Chaldan Ironhoof - Guild Leader

Chaldan Ironhoof, is the son of an enchanter/blacksmith - who provided the Ironhoof family name - and a lady Centaur warrior, and was born and raised in the centaur city of Lineoth. Born and raised to the sound of the forge and the heat of the furnace. Between this and the weapons training handed out by his warrior mother, Chaldan was shaped and forged into a fighter at home with the blade, the feel of plate armour on his back and with the immense wealth of knowledge that the old libraries of the Centaur city has at its disposal.

Chaldan first started adventuring with Saloma Perdue, Enchantress and of all things, a Sullen Zombie by the name of Dismala, honorary 3rd Deputy of the Five Paths, official female Zombie promoter of grouchiness and angst. No-one does angst like a Sullen. Chaldan adventured in Swinderlog dungeon with his strange companions for a while, until Dismala was ambushed & slain by a large horde of Skeleton Warriors, allowing her to rest in peace at last.

At about this time Chaldan noticed that the Centaur Council was completely without leadership and the guild seemed to be non- existent; a normally laid-back guild was so laid-back the membership seemed to have drifted. This wasn't acceptable, and Chaldan offered to take up leadership of the guild. What members still remained and were alert gladly accepted the offer of a new leader.

Since then he has organised two missions, one to Noir's Lair to destroy the Undead Centaur Noir - who he slew personally - and with the assistance of the Assembly and Great Library, organised the popular mission to explore Kreskin'Lal's Tower. Kreskin'Lal the supposed architect of all Centaurs and the same mage that cursed the Elven Males. The mission to KLT was a vast undertaking, more than 80 adventurers journeyed over 3 weeks to reach the Tower which proved to be deadly and at the same time empty. Of the rumours of the Centaurs being created by Kreskin'Lal the Centaur Council found nothing, it was just another ruse to create division amongst the good races, but instead a few dozen bottles were found that were discovered to alleviate the Elven Male Curse. This has then spawned a new mission, that to the Elven Kingdom, to bring these pitifully few samples to the Elven Kingdom in the hope that their magics can be replicated and used to remove the Curse if possible.

After the mission to KLT the Guild has spread out, but with other threats to Bereny, Chaldan joined the mission to "Save the World". The thought behind this was that the Magical Weave - that supposedly was deteriorating - would eventually cause the collapse of all magic in the known lands. As the mission started amongst the clouds, from Fae Cloud island to another by thin suspended cloud bridges, Chaldan arranged to borrow a set of magical harness wings (meant for a horse). Not terribly appropriate, but better than accidentally falling off a cloud. Whilst over-flying and near the Centaur Meadows near to KLT, he decided to land and take rest at it. Whilst galloping on the way in Chaldan found another strange harness called "Swift Wind". This Ancient harness purported to allow a Centaur to fly, but said no more. Thinking that a set of wings designed for a Centaur would be far more appropriate that a set of magically unreliable horsey ones, Chaldan took off his borrowed set, removed his barding and fitted this harness. As soon as it was fitted, Chaldan knew something wasn't quite right. He tugged at it, but it was like tugging at his own skin, the Wings were physical, not magical and a part of him. This change was permanent. Still, upon reflection Chaldan was now a true and the only Winged Centaur in Bereny, a true denzien of both the Sky and of the Land. So the mission to Save the World continues....

Other missions continue, not least one to explore the Golden Coast and all it holds....

Chaldan is also very pleased to have found more people to help him run and support the Guild, joining himself and Tancred Silverhoof are the first and only Centaur landed Baron (strange!), Baron Kenhoof Lionheart and the newest Deputy Swain, leading the mission to the Golden Coast. Chaldan is pleased with and proud of them all, the Centaur Council will only get better and stronger.....!
