Services available from the Guildhall
The Guildhouse description is as follows:

I found myself standing before an impressive building. It was made entirely from blackened stone and the ebony door adorned with a mystical red symbol. Above the entrance a sign proclaimed 'Guildhall' and a brass nameplate on the door clearly stated that this premises was owned by the Assembly.

For further information on the guild known as the Assembly stand on the guildhall square and issue the L2 order.

Below is a list of the services available from the Guildhall. For the locations of Assembly Guildhalls, look here.

Basic Guild Items
These items are all free to new members:

1) Assembly badge (equip to right arm). This identifies you as a member and gives +1 to intelligence. You must be wearing this in order to obtain other Guild services.

2) Ring of protection +2 (equip to finger).

3) Scroll of Word of Confusion (WOC).
This spell needs to be targeted at a character within a three square range. When cast it causes the character to fall into a state of confusion, suffering -~15 penalties on their attack and all defence stats for the duration of the turn. Undead and Supernatural monsters are also affected, but to a lesser degree. The order for casting this spell is
’C’ ‘8‘ ‘Target ID No’. The order to copy the scroll is ‘C 108'. This costs 25 gps.

Summon Stone Animate (SSA)
Members of the Assembly Guild can purchase a special Guild scroll, 'Summon Stone Animate' from the Guildhall. The scroll costs 200GPs to buy. The order to buy the scroll is ‘L 7‘.

To cast the spell using this scroll use the order C 17. When cast the scroll summons a Stone Animate, a powerful summoned servant. The animate is free as long as it lives. Each time it moves there is a chance its magic will run out, but this chance is much lower than that of other summoned creatures, so it should stay alive much longer on average. Owners of the scroll can copy it using the order C 117 at a cost of 200 GPs.

A sample Stone Animate
-    Appearance: 4 Willpower: 10 Dexterity: 6 Strength: 18 Wisdom: 6 Intelligence: 5
-    Defences: Normal: -5 Fire: 500 Cold: -45 Chemical: -25 Magical: -25 Mental: -45
-    Alignment: Evil
-    Move Rate:7 Health 40
-    Attack: 25 Damage: 5 to 11 (Normal)
Stone Animates can equip any sort of weapon or armour. In addition it appears that they have an inherent +2 damage bonus regardless of weapon type they have equipped.

Mystic Circle Skill
Members can apply for a special guild-only skill called "Mystic Circle", which can be learnt at the Guildhall. Having the previous level is a pre-requisite for learning each of the higher levels. There is no chance of failure when learning these skills, so no penalties.

To learn Mystic Circle 1 costs 200 xps and 200 gps and the order to do so is ‘L 21’.
Grants +3 health, +2 all defences except magical, which gets +5 defence

To learn Mystic Circle 2 costs 500 xps and 500 gps and the order is ‘L 22’.
Grants +6 health, +5 all defences except magical, which gets +8 defence

To learn Mystic Circle 3 costs 600 XPs and 600 GPs and the order is 'X 5344'.
Grants +9 health, +7 to all defences except magical defence, which is  +10.
There is an additional special ability which remains classified at this time.

To learn Mystic Circle 4 costs 750 XPs and 750 GPs and the order is 'X 5345'.
Grants +12 health, +9 to all defences except magical defence, which is +12, and +1 damage resistance against magic.

To learn Mystic Circle 5 costs 1250 XPs and 1250 GPs and the order is 'X 7437'.
Grants +16 health, +10 to all defences except magical defence, which is +15.
Also grants complete immunity to both the enchanter spell Parallel Blast (MBL) and the necromancer spell Touch of Death (TOD).

To learn Mystic Circle 6 costs 1500 Xps and 1500 Gps, and the order is  'L' '6001'.
Grants +22 health, +11 to all defences except magical defence (+17) and alchemical defence (+12).

Note that the bonus stated is the total bonus (cumulative with all previous levels).

The ultimate level of this skill is said to be the fabled seventh level, but no-one in the Assembly has managed to master beyond the sixth level at this time.

Magical Fae Wisps
These creatures are strange fae beings who can be summoned to aid an enchanter with the necessary knowledge for a short time. Only the Assembly presently have this knowledge, and to summon a wisp an Enchanter must be a member of the Assembly and must be standing on an Assembly guild hall.

Wisps are sub-characters. They get comparatively few orders, but they can teleport to their master’s location at any time, so they have a quick means of travel to get where their masters are. When a Wisp is summoned a random type appears from the four known types (Rose, Weed, Thorn, Thistle).

The order to summon a Wisp is ‘L 20‘; this costs 190 Gps.

Wisps can also learn the ‘Teleport to Other’ skill at Assembly guildhouses.

For more information on Wisps see this Archive entry.

The Jesslar Taboner Memorial Scroll Library
Funded by a bequest from the will of our late member Ms Jesslar Taboner,  the Assembly makes available a number of magic scrolls for sale. This service is available to members ONLY.

Enquiries regarding the scroll library should be made direct to the Guild Librarian, Lady Eleanor deManfess, either via the Guild Yahoo Group, or the public notice board.

Further information, including the most recent list of spells available, is available here.

The Guild Maillist
There is an Assembly Yahoo mail list that you can subscribe to, called ‘TheAssemblyGuild’, at Yahoo Groups. The files section of the group also contains information on the Assembly, although probably nothing that isn’t also on this site. Obviously you will need to register for a Yahoo Groups identity in order to use it.
