THE ASSEMBLY - Homepage JOINING THE ASSEMBLY

I knocked on the door and waited a short time before a very distinguished man in a flowing red robe opened it and ushered me in. The room I entered seemed far larger on the inside than it had appeared was possible before I had crossed the threshold. The man clapped his hands and the darkness was banished as several candles flared into light. He pointed a finger and the door swung silently closed. "Welcome to the Guildhall of the Assembly, friend," the man said. "You wish knowledge of our organisation?" I nodded and he smiled. "Well then, read this scroll," he handed me a worn old parchment, "it contains all the information we are prepared to give to potential members. Only when you have been fully accepted will you be privy to our true secrets.“

Who can join the Assembly ?
The Assembly is a Guild for Enchanters, and membership is in general limited to persons of this vocation, plus those other individuals able to cast Enchanter spells. Applications from other magical entities who hold an Adventuring licence will be considered at the discretion of the Guildmaster.

Are there any other restrictions ?
The Assembly is exclusive only in respect of other Arcane Guilds. In particular, Assembly members may not also be members of the Independent Guild of Wizards.

With the explicit permission of BOTH Guild leaders an exception may be made for Assembly members to also be members of the Great Library.

Members are expected to make other Guild affiliations known on application.

The Assembly is loyal to the King (although not fanatically so), and members are expected to support the Crown at all times. Treason, or being placed beyond the King’s law, will result in expulsion from the Guild. Individuals or entities who have no allegiance to the Kingdom of Bereny may not become members (this may seem obvious, but it didn’t stop a Monster spellcaster from applying once!).

Otherwise, there are no specific requirements to join.

What benefits do I gain by joining ?
These are the initial guild items we provide to members:
1) Assembly badge (equip to right arm). This identifies you as a member and gives +1 to intelligence.
2) Ring of protection +2 (equip to finger).
3) Scroll of Word of Confusion. This Guild-exclusive spell is described more fully under Guild Information.

These items will be magically sent to you when you are accepted as a member. Ensure that you have three empty backpack slots in order to receive them.

You further gain the right to make use of the Guild Scroll library, and to purchase other items and learn new skills from the Guildhouse. See Guild Information for more details.

And of course you get to play your part in shaping the future of the Assembly, of Bereny and even Myriad itself!

How do I join ?
If you wish to join please apply to the Guildmaster, Sylvester, care of:

Ian Edwards
Email: ian.edwards3 ‘at’ tesco.net
Postal address: 4C Millenium Court, Largs, North Ayrshire, KA30 8SZ

He will require the following information:
    - Your name and player number
    - Your snail and/or e-mail address
    - Your character's name and number
    - Your character's location

Because of the nature of his duties, the Guildmaster is often unable to reply immediately. Please be patient and allow a reasonable length of time for the Guildmaster to consider your application.

A final note: remember that your mage needs at least 3 free backpack slots to receive the guild items.
