The Earth in Perspective (3) - The Sun

The Sun has an equatorial diameter of about 1.392 million km. It is a Yellow Main-sequence (G2 V) star, larger than most stars (about 85% of stars in the galaxy are smaller than it). However it is still a very common type, and there are probably somewhere between 20 and 40 million other stars similar to it in this galaxy.
